Every Child is Unique
Have you ever wondered why some children behave the way they do? Have you seen children showing interest or enthusiasm in something different from what you prefer?
Some people experienced frustration, while others hoped for an explanation to unravel their mystery. The assignment of raising children is not an easy one—it becomes more challenging when the information required for them to flourish is not available to those that have the privilege to care for them.
The strength of some got mistaken for weakness or naughtiness and their uniqueness for abnormality. If more information were available, the experience perhaps could have been different. When people do not know what to do, especially in unfamiliar circumstances, it could affect the child.
Manoah and his wife lived in ancient Jerusalem. They knew they were going to have a son after a period of barrenness but also knew some more details that would help the child flourish—what they should and should not do. The information was helpful as it helped prepare them for an experience—one they have not witnessed.
They had a son and named him Samson. He grew up to become a man with almost superhuman strength. He was famous for his deeds and known for his uniqueness. He killed lions with bare hands and removed the central pillars that held a building, causing the building to crash—killing their oppressors. He could replace an entire army to win battles for a nation.
We have not seen many like him, but the information his parents knew would have contributed to his fulfilment. Some of the events may not surprise them for long as they remember the information they got about him.
Let us imagine if his parents or guardians did not know anything about his unique strength and just wanted him to be like the other children. It would have been a national loss.
Some people are destroyed or frustrated because people do not know anything about their uniqueness. Everyone is unique. What they do and how they do it may be critical to their assignment. When it is not understood, frustration and pain could be the result.
There may be many things you can do or train yourself to do, and you can do them well, but there are some things for which you have unique abilities. If you know them and focus on them, you can do much more with less.
If you have the privilege of raising children, it could help if you know that they are unique. They may have different interests, abilities, or methods, but they need guidance to preserve their uniqueness. If you know where they are going, you can help them get there, following the right path. Sometimes, they get forced to follow a different course, rather than being guided on the right one.
You may have grown and not known fulfilment. You may have missed something crucial that could help you. I hope you will find what you do not know about yourself and start a new life towards fulfilment.
