There are so many things in life that we may not understand until explained using something similar to which we can relate. It is easier to understand the unknown from the known as we have in mathematics; you can find what you do not know by solving the problem from what you know. You may also be able to appreciate the unfamiliar when you try to understand it through the familiar.
Many years ago, I bought a car from a dealer. It came with manual and other documents which contained so much information about it and its manufacturer. I read some part of it and discovered the manufacturer provided details of suggested actions to do in the future. For instance, it recommends taking the car for service; to change the oil, filters, plugs and some other parts after every ten thousand miles.
I know some people may not take this seriously until they see the consequences of such a decision. The experts that know about cars would inform you that ignoring such instructions is a bad idea. It will eventually lead to the loss of the engine or car. It is an expensive lesson if you allow it to happen, but probably realise that the manufacturer already knows and can predict the lifetime of their products and thus recommends actions to help make the most of the product.
You will find recommended times to change other car parts like brake pads, tyres, fan belts and so on. How did he know that the brake pads need changing after driving the car for about 50,000 miles? How did he know that the oil filter will need a replacement after 10,000 miles of travel? Have you ever wondered why? The manufacturer knows the future of the product because he made it.
You may have found that the well-maintained cars in any given brand are managed by the approved or recommended dealers. It is because they closely align with the recommended guidelines of the manufacturer—they follow the instructions.
I once got a letter from my car’s manufacturer—it had their name, logo and other details, which gives the reader some assurance of authenticity. I opened the letter and found that the manufacturer discovered that my car is likely to have some problems. The car seems fine at the time, without any noticeable problem, but they chose to recall it. They have found or anticipated some issues after testing the particular brand that would be damaging. All they would like me to do is to contact the nearest authorised dealer as soon as possible, and they would do the rest.
It was not what I was expecting, but I discovered through a search that it was not a scam but that the manufacturer should fix their product if it has a problem or an anticipated problem. They could also choose to replace the car with a new one or repair the old one to an acceptable standard to maintain the reputation of the image or logo attached to it. The most exciting part is that all the expenses get paid by the manufacturer.
All expenses paid? I thought I was responsible for the car and the maintenance. I never realised that there is an interest much more than mine—the manufacturer’s—why?—because they have their name on it. They do not even know me, I have never met the owner of the organisation, all that does not matter, but all that matters to them is that I have their product, and they would be happy to do anything to make sure their product works fine because of their reputation.
I suddenly realised that I was part of a group of people that use a product that is being jealously looked after by the manufacturer. The aim is to ensure that the product performs to its best capability—it is crucial for their name and reputation. The group of people are valued and form a society that the manufacturer looks after jealously. It is like a realm enjoying the support that ensures the product work as manufactured to the best of its abilities.
It is interesting to know that the Kingdom of God is similar. The word—kingdom means a country or territory under the control of a King. The manufacturer is the King, which is God the Creator. We are the cars. The manual is His instructions to guide us as we journey in life because He knows the future and provides us with what to do to make the most of life. The authorised dealer is His approved option. The recall is His attempt to restore the original image that got broken.
He knows that the faulty product will not have a good ending, so he desires to change it at no expense to anyone. He already paid for all the expenses. You only need to follow the instructions in the letter to get the new car.
The kingdom of God is the group of people that God jealously supports. It is the country of people that willingly connect to him and agree to be under his control. It is the realm where everyone abides by his instructions and follows his leading. His interest in you is because you are His product, and He wants the best for His product because of his reputation.
It is open to all regardless of your country, race, language, religion, ethnicity, or belief. It is a choice you have to make and a decision you have to take. Your maker would like to connect with you. You may find that the emptiness you are struggling to fill is because you have disconnected from the source. I hope you will make the best decision that will give you a fulfilling present and lasting future.
