Building Blocks for a Quality Life -Part 3

Character

Do you know what people see when they look at you? What are you committed to doing even when no one is watching? It could be a pointer to who you are now. Everybody represents something, but who do you want to become?

It is interesting to know that anything that appears in writing is generally known as Character. It could be a letter of the alphabet, number, punctuation mark or symbol. They, in different combinations, form words and sentences based on principles that underpin their use.

“The consistency of conduct is crucial to the making of any enviable future.”

In other words, the letters of the alphabet have an acceptable usage in writing; every one of them has an agreed name, which does not change. Letter A is the same regardless of the temperature, location or time. The words formed from the letters are also numerous, based on an accepted use. The combinations of the letters make the language meaningful and an acceptable means of communication. The words you form can only make sense to others if only you abide by the rules that guide the accepted use.

When you form an acceptable word in English using the alphabet, everyone who understands the language will understand you; they know the words because they came about by using letters formed acceptably.

When you acceptably form words in any language, you will make sense to people that understand the language. Any attempt to misuse it will result in a different meaning or confusion. The only reason people have been able to communicate is that they have upheld the principles that govern the use of the letter and retained the meaning of each word.

“It is easier to uphold the truth than to change it.”

The same applies to life. If you desire to make sense to people that speak the language of quality and greatness, you must understand the letters and how to form acceptable and meaningful words. The letters represent the values and traits that define an individual, a combination of which expresses his personality. They are qualities that go a long way to affect the individual.

You cannot use Greek letters to form Greek words and expect to make sense to someone that only understands English. Also, you cannot misuse the letters of the French language forming or pronouncing words according to the acceptable rule in English and hope to make sense to an individual that speaks only French. The consistency of conduct is crucial to the making of any enviable future. It is a necessary building block for a quality life.

Many people with great potential in life have built careers only to discover that the inconsistencies in their behaviour resulted in their fall. Some people were forced out of prominent and significant positions in shame when their deeds were exposed. The great work they did could not save the day.

“Character represents who you are through changing times, seasons and circumstances.”

It represents who you are through changing times, seasons and circumstances. It is something you do not want to lose; it is easier to keep. You cannot change the letter A and get the world to agree with you; it is easier to uphold the truth than to change it.

In your journey in life, you will need good qualities to make meaning and guarantee a great future. It is easier to uphold values that will deliver a lasting structure of greatness than to desire to manipulate your way by shortcuts that will cut you short later in life. Live a life of meaning that retains values and make you remain relevant to your generation.
