Building Blocks for a Quality Life -Part 12

Adaptable

Change is one thing that happens to all, regardless of race, age, experience, or nationality. So, even if you decide to remain the same, the things around you may change, affecting you.

How can you fare when things change?

Some things can change; some could be predictable, while others may come without sufficient notice.

The bricks and other materials that form part of a building get chosen with change in mind. The weather, temperature, humidity, and pressure, among other factors around the building, will not always remain the same. However, the characteristic of the building and its materials can cope with the current and future changes while still retaining one form because of the quality of adaptability. It can hold together—the characteristic properties that define each material with changing times and seasons.

“Change has the potential to damage, but a positive approach can help use it for an advantage that could enhance and refine.”

The bricks will have to go through hot and cold weather. They will experience wet and dry seasons. But, they will remain in one piece when it is windy and calm. They will still be part of the building, whether the pressure increases or decreases, because of their preparedness to react to change.

In the same way, everyone will go through periods of change in life. Therefore, it is crucial to adapt to such situations and remain in one piece—preserving the characteristics and unique qualities.

Learning to be prepared to manage ever-changing situations or circumstances is crucial. For example, you wear warm clothes when it is cold to keep you warm; when it is hot, you also dress accordingly to avoid overheating. The same is also true when it is wet and dry. People could become ill because they refuse to adapt to the changing seasons.

You can keep making progress even when there is change, but you may need to do things differently or at an appropriate time.

“You may never know the change that may come your way, but it is better to prepare and not experience it than to experience it and not be ready for it.”

Change has the potential to damage, but a positive approach can help use it for an advantage that could enhance and refine. For example, the crisis that affected everyone could improve some while others could be worse depending on how they prepare and react to the change.

You may never know the change that may come your way, but it is better to prepare and not experience it than to experience it and not be ready for it.

The materials in a building are usually tested and prepared for any change they could anticipate in the environment. A wise builder will test each building material to ensure that it can withstand the worst possible known change that may occur. They will not usually face all the changes, but they get prepared should they happen. The idea is that the building will remain whether the change happens or not.

Some people have thrived because they enjoyed the benefits of one season, but when there is a change, they may struggle.

A change could be predictable and prepared for in advance. Similarly, we know the different seasons and what they bring, so we can prepare for them before they arrive. Therefore, it is not a wasted effort because it will most certainly happen, so one can take advantage of knowledge to prepare in advance.

Change may come, but you can make yourself ready for it.
